According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death for men and women combined. Nearly 133,000 new cases of colon and rectal cancer will be diagnosed this year in the United States. Screening is also allowing more colorectal cancers to be found earlier when the disease is easier to cure- highlighting the importance of early detection.
